Previously, feeding a fresh snapshot into Photos’ generative suite required an awkward multi‑step dance: leave Google Photos, open the dedicated camera app, take the photo, then reopen Google Photos and hunt through your album to select it. That friction made spontaneous edits feel like too much work.

The updated flow eliminates the usual routine of opening the gallery, finding the photo you just took, and then firing up the editor. Since its launch, Google Photos has evolved from a simple cloud backup tool to an AI‑first hub featuring Magic Editor, Reimagine, Auto Frame, and Ask Photos.
