Galaxy S26 Ultra Dominates Preorders with 70% Share

Samsung's Galaxy S26 series is already breaking preorder records in South Korea, with 1.35 million orders placed before the phones even hit store shelves. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is clearly the star of the lineup, accounting for nearly 70% of all preorders. This overwhelming preference for the Ultra model suggests consumers are drawn to its premium features and perceived value.

While the base Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus combined make up the remaining 30% of preorders, the Ultra's dominance is striking. Samsung has positioned the Ultra as the flagship with the most significant upgrades, including the exclusive Privacy Display feature. Meanwhile, the company raised prices on the smaller models, making the Ultra appear as the better value proposition for those already considering flagship-tier devices.

The strong preorder numbers, which have already surpassed last year's Galaxy S25 series, indicate Samsung's strategy is resonating with consumers. The company's decision to concentrate meaningful upgrades in the Ultra model while offering more modest improvements in the standard and Plus variants appears to be paying off. With preorders open through March 11 and retailers offering trade-in deals and double-storage promotions, Samsung is capitalizing on this early momentum.
