Fitbit adds customized AI coach plans for Premium users

Fitbit rolled out a new wave of AI health‑coach features for users enrolled in its Public Preview. The update adds weekly fitness plans that adapt to individual goals, delivering custom targets and suggested workouts. Premium subscribers will see these plans surface in the Today tab, where the coach also pushes brief messages after workouts and at day’s end, and keep motivation high.

The coach’s “personalized messages” appear throughout the day, offering morning nudges, post‑exercise summaries and end‑of‑week check‑ins. Fitbit says the prompts guide users through unfamiliar routines, making the AI feel more conversational. Feedback from the Public Preview prompted these tweaks, which also include a smoother Ask Coach interaction that aims to reduce the feeling of a jarring bot reply for daily consistency.

Alongside the coach upgrades, Fitbit refreshed its Sleep Score in the same preview, expanding metrics to include deep‑ and REM‑sleep latency, heart‑rate trends and interruptions. By exposing the full data set, the company hopes users will treat sleep as a holistic health indicator rather than a single number. The combined changes aim to deepen engagement for existing and prospective Premium members throughout the subscription period.
