Circular Ring 2 review: health data shines, comfort lags

Circular released the Ring 2 in late 2025 as a subscription‑free alternative to existing smart rings. Housed in a titanium body with a PVD coating, the 7.8 mm wide, 2.5 mm thick band houses ECG, PPG, temperature and accelerometer sensors. In performance mode it lasts up to four days, extending to eight in power mode, and it supports both iOS Health and Android Health Connect.

Early testing revealed two practical drawbacks. The inner sensor protrusions press into the finger, making long‑term wear uncomfortable, and the titanium finish scratches easily, even with a rubber cover. Unlike the earlier Circular Ring Slim, the Ring 2 lacks a vibration motor or button, and promised features such as blood‑pressure and glucose trends remain locked behind a future paywall, ceding ground to the newer Oura Ring 5.

The Ring 2 delivers solid sleep analysis, daily ECG with atrial‑fibrillation detection, and medication reminders, but its dense app and slow sync diminish usability. Workout tracking proves inconsistent, and the absence of step‑by‑step activity logging feels like a step back. In a market dominated by Oura and Samsung, Circular’s latest model struggles to differentiate itself for consumers.
