Bigme is teasing its upcoming Hibreak Dual 2, a smartphone aiming to consolidate devices with a unique dual-screen setup. The device features a 6.1-inch color/BW E-Ink display paired with a 5-inch LCD screen, designed to offer a comfortable reading experience alongside the functionality of a traditional smartphone display. Bigme states the goal is to eliminate the need for users to carry two separate devices.

The Hibreak Dual 2 is slated to launch soon and will run Android 16. Under the hood, it boasts a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 SoC and will be available with 12GB or 16GB of RAM, coupled with 256GB or 512GB of storage, respectively. Photography needs are addressed by a 50MP main camera and a 5MP selfie lens, with additional features like NFC and facial recognition included.

This successor follows the original Hibreak Dual, which launched earlier this year. While the initial device had a novel concept, it reportedly fell short in execution. Bigme is actively engaging with user feedback on platforms like Reddit, acknowledging concerns about software and bloatware. The company aims for the Dual 2 to offer a significantly improved user experience over its predecessor, particularly in its dual-screen implementation.
