Android 17 rollout: which phones will get the update

Android 17’s stable build lands in June, and owners will wonder if their device qualifies. Phones launched in 2024 or later generally qualify, but Xiaomi’s mid‑range line breaks the trend. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ debuted with Android 13 and will skip Android 17, a pattern repeated with the Note 14 Pro+ and Note 15 Pro+.

Google continues to lead, delivering Android 17 to every Pixel 6 and newer—twenty models in total, from Pixel 6 Pro to the upcoming Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Samsung pledges seven OS upgrades for flagships and six for mids, meaning the Galaxy S23 series and all A‑series from the A24 onward will receive the update. Meanwhile, Vivo promises five years of updates for its X‑series flagships and four for mids like the V70 Elite.

OPPO follows suit, guaranteeing five Android updates for its Find X and Reno flagships, ensuring models such as Find X9 Ultra and Reno 15 Pro stay current. Motorola improves its policy, giving the Razr Fold seven years of support but limiting most Moto G devices to one or two platform upgrades, leaving many budget users behind. With fragmentation still a pain point, brands that honor long‑term updates—like Google, Samsung, and Vivo—offer the clearest path to Android 17 for consumers.
