SwitchBot RGBICWW Ceiling Light Adds Native Matter Support

SwitchBot has launched the SwitchBot RGBICWW ceiling light, bringing hardwired Matter lighting directly to Apple Home without requiring a separate hub. The fixture connects natively over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi to Apple TV 4K or HomePod, marking a maturation in the smart home market toward full native Matter integration for permanent fixtures.

Available in two sizes, the 12-inch model delivers 2000 lumens for hallways and bathrooms, while the 15-inch version provides 3200 lumens for living spaces. Both feature RGBIC technology with independent chips enabling simultaneous multi-color effects across the ceiling, plus dedicated warm and cool white LEDs tunable from 2700 K to 6500 K. Continuous dimming from 100% to 0% and power-off memory preserve settings during outages.

While the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection adds a legacy-band client to routers — a Thread radio would offer faster mesh response — the sub-$50 price point represents strong value for a hardwired, native Matter ceiling light. The SwitchBot RGBICWW is available now on Amazon.
