Apple Wallet's digital car key feature has expanded to include Porsche vehicles, with the 2026 Macan EV currently available and the 2026 Cayenne EV arriving soon. Users can lock and unlock their vehicles using an iPhone or Apple Watch, with some models supporting automatic functionality through Ultra Wideband technology.

This rollout follows Apple's broader commitment to bring car keys to 13 new vehicle brands. Toyota and Rivian have already launched support, while General Motors brands like Chevrolet and Cadillac are still pending. The feature represents Apple's push into automotive digital integration beyond CarPlay.

The convenience factor appeals to iPhone users who want seamless access to their vehicles without carrying physical keys. However, availability remains limited to newer model years, meaning many existing Porsche owners won't benefit from this technology.

As more automakers adopt digital key standards, consumers gain another reason to stay within Apple's ecosystem when shopping for vehicles. The expansion signals growing industry acceptance of smartphone-based access solutions.
