Opera reports a significant uptick in its iOS browser’s monthly active users (MAUs) for Q2 2026, with a 50% increase in the US and 93% in the UK compared with the same period last year.

The boost follows momentum from last year, when the Digital Markets Act forced Apple to add a browser‑choice screen on iOS. Since then, Opera One grew 42% across Europe, with France alone up 103%.

Opera attributes the growth to users actively choosing and sticking with the browser because of its features. The latest update offers a new sync system linking tabs, bookmarks, and passwords between desktop and iPhone, media controls on tabs, and AI that accepts multimodal prompts and file uploads from the device.

Other core features driving retention include a free, unlimited VPN, improved tab management, built‑in AI, and a native ad blocker. Opera’s overall MAUs grew 66% in the UK and 40% in the US for Q2 2026 when combining iOS and Android. These figures underscore Opera’s expanding presence in a market that has traditionally been dominated by Safari. The company plans to continue expanding its feature set to keep users engaged. Industry analysts note that Opera’s user‑centric approach is paying off as it gains share in the competitive mobile browser landscape.
