Open Claw, the AI‑agent platform born from the Clawdbot project and now backed by OpenAI, has launched an official mobile client for iPhone and Android. The free app pairs the phone with a privately hosted Open Claw Gateway, turning it into a secure node for chat, voice commands and device‑aware automation. It lands today on the App Store.

The iOS version supports QR‑code or manual setup to connect the gateway, then offers real‑time Talk mode, background listening, and push notifications for workflow status. Users can share text, links or media directly from iOS, and optionally grant access to camera, location, contacts, calendar and reminders. All permissions are gated by iOS privacy controls.

Because Open Claw runs locally, the gateway retains keys and configuration, keeping data on the user’s hardware rather than the cloud. The rollout adds iPad and Apple Watch clients, expanding the ecosystem beyond smartphones. With the app, developers and power users gain a convenient front‑end for private AI assistants without sacrificing control.

The rollout signals a shift toward locally hosted AI assistants that avoid cloud‑centric models. By exposing the same gateway controls on mobile, Open Claw aims to attract privacy‑focused users and developers seeking customizable automation. The free iOS, iPadOS and watchOS binaries make the platform instantly accessible to a broader audience.
