OpenClaw has released standalone apps for both iOS and Android devices, officially bringing agentic AI assistants to mainstream app stores. After founder Peter Steinberger joined OpenAI earlier this year, the project transitioned to foundation-led open-source development. OpenAI will provide unspecified support to the organization.

Apple's historically strict review process has created challenges for agentic tools, with the company blocking many apps over security concerns around "vibe coding." iOS users previously relied on third-party chat apps like Telegram or WhatsApp to interact with AI agents.

The availability of official App Store and Play Store apps signals growing acceptance of agentic AI on mobile platforms.
