MyFitnessPal rolled out a new AI Coach tab that turns logged meals, goals and habits into real‑time, hyper‑personalized nutrition guidance. The feature draws on over 20 years of nutritional expertise and the world's largest food database to offer instant food‑swap suggestions, recipe tweaks and portion advice. Subscribers can access the tool from the app’s new Coach tab.

Melissa Jaeger, RD, LD and MyFitnessPal’s Head of Nutrition, said the AI Coach acts as a real‑time translator that considers what users ate at breakfast, their goals and daily patterns to deliver meaningful feedback. The service promises to replace generic advice with data‑driven, actionable steps tailored to each logged entry.

The AI Coach is available to Premium and Premium+ subscribers in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. By grounding recommendations in users’ own data, MyFitnessPal moves beyond generic tips, offering a scalable, personalized coaching experience that could shift how dietitians and tech companies approach nutrition tracking.

Early adopters report that the AI Coach’s instant meal‑pairing suggestions save time during grocery trips and help maintain calorie targets without sacrificing flavor. Developers plan to expand the database further and integrate more third‑party fitness trackers, aiming to make the AI Coach a central hub for holistic health management.
