macOS 27 is set to introduce a major AI overhaul with five significant features arriving next month. The new software version will drop support for four older Mac models while packing generative AI capabilities across multiple applications. Apple appears to be making a substantial push into AI with these features, positioning them as central to the upcoming release.

Siri will receive a complete transformation with a chatbot-style interface and agentic capabilities to take actions across the Mac. Safari gains an 'Organize Tabs' feature using AI to automatically sort tabs into groups. Apple Photos introduces three new AI-powered editing tools called Extend, Enhance, and Reframe for generating content and improving image quality.

The Shortcuts app will enable users to create custom automation through natural language descriptions. Design changes focus on refinements to the Liquid Glass interface and touch optimizations, likely preparing for a rumored touchscreen MacBook Ultra. These updates represent Apple's deeper integration of AI into macOS while addressing user interface concerns.
