Actor James Marsden, who recently played billionaire Owen Ashe in the second season of *Your Friends & Neighbors*, was confirmed this week for his third Apple TV production. The news comes after Apple Studios announced earlier this year that Marsden had been cast as CIA Case Officer Brad Griffin in the upcoming thriller series *Disavowed*.

Now, as reported by Deadline, Marsden has been confirmed for a mystery comedy titled *Bad News Dads*. Based on the upcoming novel by Adam Frost, the show is about an inept men's baseball rec league team where one of the players' wives dies in a suspicious accident. Marsden plays Ben, who leads two teammates in an impromptu investigation into what they increasingly believe was murder. Marsden will also serve as executive producer.

The series comes from *You're the Worst* creator Stephen Falk. The *Bad News Dads* novel is set for publication on April 6, 2027, while the Apple TV adaptation remains in development with no premiere date yet. Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month.
