Apple Studios has greenlit "Disavowed," a new action thriller series starring James Marsden. Marsden will play CIA Case Officer Brad Griffin, who gets fired mid-hunt for an assassin and then pursues a $15 million federal bounty on the assassin's head. The project marks Apple's second collaboration with the actor, who currently appears in "Your Friends & Neighbors."

The series comes from "Iron Man" and "Uncharted" writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, with Blue Marble Pictures producing. This is the same company behind the award-winning series "Pachinko," which ran from 2022 to 2024. The announcement continues Apple's strategic expansion into premium original content for its streaming platform.

Apple TV, which costs $12.99 per month, continues to build its content library with this new series. The addition of "Disavowed" follows hits like "Severance" and "Silo," positioning Apple as a serious competitor in the streaming wars alongside established services like Netflix and Disney+. Apple's investment in quality scripted content appears to be accelerating.
