iOS 27 introduces significant enhancements to Apple Music's Auto Mix feature, offering improved song transitions.

Auto Mix, first released last year, utilizes artificial intelligence to create DJ-like seamless transitions between tracks. While the initial version in iOS 26 was functional, it often relied on predictable mixing styles. Apple claims that iOS 27's Auto Mix introduces "a whole new layer of energy and excitement" with more immersive and engaging transitions.

Testing confirms these improvements. Transitions are reportedly more seamless and less abrupt, with the previous "underwater" sound effect largely replaced by natural blends. The feature now remixes song outros and intros to perfectly align tempo, creating a more cohesive listening experience. Auto Mix enhancements are also available on Apple Music for tvOS and HomePod with this year's software updates. iOS 27 is currently in public beta and will be released widely later this year.
