Apple is planning a wave of interface changes for iOS 27 that aim to clean up and streamline the Liquid Glass design language introduced in iOS 26. Bloomberg's report, sourced to 9to5Mac, details adjustments across several core apps heading into WWDC. The Camera app will become fully customizable, letting users pick their own set of controls—called widgets—to appear at the top of the interface.

Safari gets a new start page with four tabs at the top for favorites, bookmarks, a reading list, and browsing history. The Weather app adds a "Conditions" section on its main page, bringing rain and wind data out of separate city pages. Apple is also reversing course on the tab bar design from iOS 26 by combining the search tab with navigation tabs in Podcasts, TV, Music, Health, and News.

Image Playground receives a complete redesign with a "describe a change" option for post-creation edits, and Apple is testing upgraded models for more lifelike images. The on-screen keyboard gets a new sliding-up animation. These tweaks suggest Apple is pulling back from last year's bold visual overhaul rather than doubling down.
