iOS 26 Adds iPhone Case Color Matching for App Icons

Apple has introduced a new Home Screen customization feature in iOS 26 that automatically tints app icons to match either your iPhone's color or its case. This enhancement builds on iOS 18's custom icon designs by adding two preset options: tint that matches your device's color or tint that matches your case's color.

The feature caters to users who want a cohesive aesthetic across their hardware and software. Apple's official MagSafe cases work seamlessly with the case-matching option, though third-party cases may vary in compatibility. The setting is particularly appealing for those who frequently swap cases to complement their outfits.

To use the feature, long-press on your Home Screen, tap 'Edit,' select 'Customize,' and choose 'Tinted.' Four new options appear at the bottom, with the leftmost button matching your iPhone's color and the adjacent one matching your case's color. This simple addition demonstrates Apple's growing focus on personalization, making it easier than ever to create a unified look across your iPhone experience.
