Halide Mark III brings significant upgrades to the pro camera app that iPhone photographers have been anticipating since late 2024. The version 3.0 release focuses on improving photo quality from capture through editing, marking a substantial evolution for the popular iOS photography tool.

The standout feature is Halide Looks, offering five distinct photo processing styles including Valencia for landscapes, Rembrandt for portraits, Nova for color-rich scenes, Zephyr for subtle tones, and Chrome Noir for black and white work. Each look uses physically accurate processing combined with the app's film simulation engine and optional HDR capabilities.

A redesigned Photo Lab editor lets users process RAW files not just from iPhones but also from Canon, Sony, Nikon, Leica, Fujifilm, and Hasselblad cameras. The interface provides quick editing tools for exposure, color balance, and composition adjustments, plus framing controls accessible through simple swipes.

The pro camera interface now emphasizes composition with aspect ratios matching 35mm, medium format, and panoramic film cameras, plus dynamic Instagram sizing. Halide Mark III costs $59.99 outright or $19.99/year via subscription, with free upgrades for existing Mark II customers. The app is available now on iPhone and iPad.
