Google has officially rolled out its Snapseed camera app for iPhone, transforming the image editor into a full-featured camera application. After soft-launching in December, the app now includes a dedicated camera icon in the top-right corner, moving beyond its previous limited access through widgets and control centers. PRO manual controls for exposure, focus, ISO, and shutter speed give photographers professional-level adjustments at their fingertips.

The camera introduces real-time film emulation technology, offering eleven different styles inspired by iconic films from Kodak, Fuji, Agfa, and Polaroid. Each simulation provides authentic retro looks that can be applied before capture. Google has implemented skeuomorphic design elements including a physical-style dial for adjustments and rewind animations when switching between film types, creating an nostalgic experience for digital photographers.

Every photo captured includes a complete editing stack, allowing users to modify, fine-tune, or revert any aspect of the look even after saving to their gallery. The app features additional viewfinder themes and is completely free in the App Store as version 3.15.0. Google is currently developing an Android update to bring these same camera features to its Android users.
