General Motors is expanding its native Apple Music app to select Buick and GMC vehicles starting today, adding support for 2025-2026 models including the Acadia, Canyon, Sierra EV, Terrain, Yukon, and Yukon XL. The automaker first introduced the dedicated Apple Music app last December for select Cadillac and Chevrolet cars.

With this latest rollout, Apple Music is now available across 1.2 million GM vehicles on the road. The streaming service comes included for eight years through OnStar Basics on new GM cars. The expansion includes 2026 Enclave and Envision models for Buick, plus the 2026 HUMMER EV SUV and Pickup for GMC.

This move represents GM's attempt to provide some CarPlay functionality after announcing it would abandon the platform in future EVs and gradually phase it out on more vehicles. While a native Apple Music app gives drivers one aspect of the CarPlay experience, they still miss Apple Maps, Apple Podcasts, third-party iPhone apps, and other features that made CarPlay popular among users.
