Eero has launched the Eero Signal, a new backup connectivity device designed to keep your network online during internet outages. The 4G LTE model is now available on Amazon for $99, while the 5G RedCap version will arrive later in 2026 for $199.99.

Unlike traditional backup solutions, Eero Signal connects to any USB-C Eero device supporting Wi-Fi 6 or later. The hardware includes a built-in eSIM that automatically detects outages and switches to cellular networks. However, the backup functionality requires an Eero Plus subscription - the base tier costs $99.99 annually and includes 10GB of data, while the new Eero Plus 100 plan offers up to 100GB for $199.99 per year.

The timing is interesting given that most smartphones now offer hotspot capabilities, potentially making dedicated backup hardware less essential for many users. Still, Eero Signal provides seamless failover without requiring manual intervention or draining your phone's battery. The device represents Eero's push into redundancy solutions as internet reliability becomes increasingly critical for home networks.
