Casely has reissued a recall for its MagSafe-compatible Power Pods following new safety incidents. The recall covers over 429,000 units of the 5,000 mAh Power Pods (Model E33A), almost a year after the initial recall announcement last April. The lithium-ion batteries can overheat and ignite, posing serious injury or death risks to consumers, prompting the expanded recall.

The updated hazard description reflects 28 new incidents reported since last year's recall, including one fatal case where a 75-year-old woman died from burn complications. Another incident occurred mid-flight when a power bank exploded while charging a cell phone, causing first-degree burns to a 47-year-old passenger. These incidents demonstrate the continued danger of the defective devices.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled power banks and contact Casely for a free replacement. The company requires two photographs of the device and proper disposal according to local regulations. Users can visit the recall website to complete the replacement process. The continued incidents highlight serious manufacturing concerns in the power bank market.
