Apple's Foldable iPhone Design Revealed

Apple's forthcoming foldable device has been revealed through dummy units obtained by Sonny Dickson, showing a design with a 7.8-inch inner display and 5.5-inch outer screen. The foldable iPhone features a front-facing camera positioned in the top-left corner of the main screen and will use Touch ID instead of Face ID for biometric authentication.

When closed, the device maintains a passport-style form factor with a shorter, squatter aspect ratio than current iPhones. The internal camera system includes two external-facing rear cameras. Apple's focus appears to be on build quality, particularly the hinge technology that reportedly creates a nearly invisible crease - a significant departure from competitors' more visible folding mechanisms.

Contrary to earlier reports suggesting black and white options, the dummy units indicate white may be the only available color at launch. This aligns with Apple's historical pattern of limited color choices for new products. The device is expected to leverage the existing iPad app ecosystem, giving it a robust software lineup from day one. iOS 27 may provide further insights into Apple's software plans for the foldable experience.
