Apple Updates App Store Betting Rules Brazil

Apple has implemented new App Store requirements for betting apps in Brazil, now demanding a valid license from the country's Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA) for fixed-odds betting applications. This policy change follows recent updates to Brazil's gambling regulations and applies to apps that indicate gambling features during App Store submission.

The SPA oversees Brazil's betting sector, including fixed-odds betting and commercial promotions. Apps with these features will automatically receive an A18 age rating in Brazil. Developers must submit a new version of their app with license information to initiate verification, as updating App Store Connect alone won't start the review process.

Developers must include license details in the App Review section, attach supporting documents, and comply with all local disclosure requirements including gambling risk warnings. Apple recommends contacting legal counsel for guidance on meeting these Brazilian market requirements.
