Apple released its 2026 sales tax holiday schedule, letting shoppers in 10 U.S. states buy select Apple products without state sales tax. Customers can shop tax‑free online or in‑store, but dates, devices, and price caps differ wildly. The first window opens on Alabama July 17‑19, followed by Florida July 20‑Aug 20, the longest holiday on Apple’s list. New Mexico and Tennessee run July 31‑Aug 2, West Virginia July 31‑Aug 3, Arkansas Aug 1‑2, Missouri, South Carolina, and Virginia Aug 7‑9, and Massachusetts Aug 8‑9.

Eligibility rules vary. Arkansas offers the broadest exemption: all Macs, iPads, iPhones, Apple Vision Pro, printers, and listed accessories qualify, with no stated sales‑price limit. Massachusetts allows most individual retail items priced at $2,500 or less, and buyers can stack multiple qualifying items even if the total exceeds that amount. Florida and Missouri cap qualifying computers and accessories at $1,500 per item. Tennessee applies a $1,500 ceiling to the combined price of a computer and accessories. New Mexico limits computers to $1,000 and related hardware to $500.

Other states impose stricter limits: Virginia restricts eligibility to cell‑phone chargers and batteries priced Rücken at $60 or less, while West Virginia’s list includes only iPads priced at $500 or less. Alabama caps total purchases at $1,173 and warns that local tax may still apply. Apple notes that savings may not appear at checkout but will appear on the final receipt.
