Apple Pay is getting four new features and expanded support, including a redesigned checkout interface in iOS 27, American Express rewards integration, Tap to Share for in-store shopping, and debit card reload capabilities. The redesigned interface in iOS 27 allows users to swipe between cards, view card details like rewards and balances, and access pay later options. American Express users can now apply Membership Rewards points directly in Apple Pay, valued at 0.7 cents per point.

Tap to Share enables secure sharing of contact info, loyalty data, and real-time basket views during in-store purchases via iPhone-to-iPhone tap. Later this year, users will be able to add money to supported debit cards directly in Apple Wallet or at checkout. Additionally, Walmart is rolling out Apple Pay support starting in Arkansas, with plans to expand to all U.S. stores and Sam’s Club by year-end.

These updates enhance convenience, personalization, and rewards utility across online, in-app, and in-store payments.
