Apple has officially launched the AirPods Max 2, the successor to its premium over-ear headphones. H2 chip integration delivers a significant upgrade, providing up to 1.5x more effective Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) than the previous model. This enhanced ANC, powered by Apple's newer chip also found in AirPods Pro and AirPods 4, is touted as delivering a cleaner, richer, and more detailed sound experience. Alongside ANC improvements, the new model features better Transparency mode, utilizing an optimized digital signal processing algorithm and the microphone array.

The H2 chip also unlocks several new capabilities for AirPods Max 2 users, including Live Translation, Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, Voice Isolation, Studio-quality audio recording, Loud Sound Reduction, and Siri interactions via head gestures. While these features are familiar to AirPods Pro users, their addition to the Max line represents a notable expansion of functionality for the premium headphone category. The new AirPods Max 2 retains the USB-C connection for 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio and ships in the same color options as the previous model.

Priced at $549, the headphones will be available to order starting March 25th, with shipping expected in early April.
