Anthropic is bringing its Claude Cowork AI assistant to mobile and web platforms, expanding its availability beyond the desktop app. This beta feature, rolling out gradually to select paid plans including the Max plan, allows users to initiate tasks on their computer and continue them on their iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.

Claude Cowork's core functionality enables the AI to work across various connected tools like files, calendars, email, and messaging apps until a task is completed. The expansion promises that work continues in the background even when devices are offline or closed, and users will be prompted for approval on critical decisions. Scheduled tasks can now run independently, with the AI preparing documents and drafts for later review.

The integration also consolidates chat and Cowork features into a single tab on web and desktop interfaces, featuring one sidebar and one search function. To celebrate the rollout, Anthropic is extending doubled Cowork usage limits through August 5. This move democratizes AI-powered task completion, making it more accessible for users on the go and potentially increasing adoption of agentic AI tools by removing device dependency.
