Anthropic's Claude Cowork Mobile Control

Anthropic is rolling out mobile management for its Claude Cowork AI agent, allowing users to monitor and approve tasks from their smartphones. The update, available first to Max subscribers on Android and iOS, adds a dedicated Cowork tab to the Claude app.

This integration doesn't enable phone-based task automation. Instead, it provides remote oversight of Claude's actions on a user's computer. A significant improvement is Cowork's ability to run tasks in the background, removing the need for a constant internet connection. Users will receive phone notifications for tasks requiring approval, maintaining human oversight for all actions.

Anthropic plans to merge Cowork with its main chatbot interface, enabling users to initiate computer-related tasks directly from conversations. This unified experience will debut on Claude's web and desktop clients. The company is also integrating projects, which group chats and files by topic, and artifacts, small applications Claude can generate, aiming to increase their visibility and adoption.
