Russian forces launched a massive assault on Ukraine Sunday, killing at least one civilian and injuring eight others including a child in drone and missile strikes. President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that almost 300 drones and 50 missiles targeted energy infrastructure and residential areas across multiple regions.

Beyond Kyiv, the attacks hit Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Poltava, and Sumy regions. Zelensky condemned Moscow's continued investment in military attacks over diplomacy, noting Russia deployed over 1,300 combat drones and 96 rockets this week alone. The strikes damaged railway infrastructure alongside residential buildings.

The Ukrainian president stressed the urgent need for enhanced air defense systems capable of intercepting ballistic missiles. As Ukraine marks nearly four years of resistance against Russia's full-scale invasion, Zelensky emphasized that strengthening defenses protects both critical infrastructure and civilian life.
