Five men have been convicted for a horrific revenge attack in Stoke-on-Trent that left a woman with 65% burns and a teenage girl injured. The assault occurred on December 16, 2021, when the group smashed windows and poured petrol into a home before setting the victim on fire.

A fight earlier that day between some of the defendants led to one man being stabbed and hospitalized. That evening, the group targeted a house on Beverley Drive demanding to speak to Naveed Hussain. After smashing windows and dousing the property with petrol, they assaulted the 31-year-old woman and set her on fire in front of her 13-year-old daughter.

Five other men had previously pleaded guilty to various charges including attempted murder and violent disorder. The victim spent two months in a coma and now faces life-changing injuries requiring ongoing medical treatment. She escaped by jumping from an upstairs window, suffering additional injuries including a broken pelvis and ribs. The convicted men will be sentenced at a later date.
