A new YouGov poll reveals Melania Trump as the second least popular first lady in recent history, with a net approval rating of -16. The survey of 2,255 U.S. citizens ranked 11 recent first ladies, placing Hillary Clinton at the bottom with a -17 rating.

Michelle Obama emerged as the most popular, achieving a +21 net approval rating, while Jackie Kennedy, Rosalynn Carter, and Nancy Reagan also scored highly. The poll found that 36% of respondents rated Melania as "poor" and another 10% as "below average," compared to 33% for Clinton in the "poor" category.

The survey also examined presidential approval ratings, with Donald Trump receiving the lowest score among 20 presidents surveyed at -20. Joe Biden ranked second-lowest among former presidents. Notably, most first ladies received higher net ratings than their husbands, with Hillary Clinton being the exception at -17 compared to Bill Clinton's -3. The findings highlight the politically polarized nature of public opinion toward first ladies, mirroring views of their presidential spouses.
