Jimmy Kimmel roasted President Trump's 34% approval rating on Thursday's show, calling it "bad news for Donald Trump" and comparing it to the popularity of "Paul Blart: Mall Cop." The late-night host noted Trump reached his lowest approval ever, falling two points behind JD Vance. Kimmel quipped, "I don't have a joke for that. I just want to make sure he knows, he's two points behind JD Vance."

The comedian mocked the Treasury Department's proposal for a $250 bill featuring Trump's likeness to celebrate America's 250th anniversary. "There he is, the least-popular bill since Cosby," Kimmel quipped. He added, "what better way to pay for a single tank of gas than with a bill featuring the head of the man who made it cost that much?"

A White House spokesperson deflected the poll numbers, stating "The ultimate poll was Nov. 5, 2024." Kimmel countered, "But now it's May of 2026, and everybody hates him, so." The Economist/YouGov poll represents a significant drop from Trump's previous approval metrics, reflecting mounting public dissatisfaction with his administration.
