The fire claimed the life of Dennis Hamlin, 75, who was already seriously ill according to his son. Mary Lou Hamlin survived with catastrophic injuries after being found outside the burning home. The property was owned by a company listing Denny Hamlin as manager, according to government records. Denny Hamlin, a leading NASCAR driver with 60 Cup Series victories including three Daytona 500 wins, had previously spoken about his father's health challenges.
