The Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is gaining serious traction in the compact SUV segment, positioning itself as a credible alternative to segment leaders like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V Hybrid. With a record 234,230 units sold in 2025 and electrified vehicles making up 30% of Hyundai's retail mix, the Tucson is no longer just an also-ran.

For 2026, Hyundai refined the Tucson Hybrid with a new entry-level Blue SE trim starting at $32,450 and a software update that smooths the transition between electric and gas power. The lineup now spans four trims, undercutting the Honda CR-V Hybrid's $35,630 starting price while offering comparable features. Despite January 2026 sales dipping 4% to 14,428 units, hybrid sales across the brand surged 60%, suggesting the electrified version is carrying the Tucson's momentum.

The Tucson Hybrid's appeal lies in its balance of efficiency and features. The Blue SE achieves an impressive 38 mpg combined, with a 521-mile range and estimated $2,000 in five-year fuel savings versus the average new vehicle. Inside, even base models get a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims add touches like a Bose audio system, ventilated seats, and 64-color ambient lighting. With J.D. Power scoring it 81/100 for quality and reliability, the Tucson Hybrid has evolved from alternative to legitimate contender in the hybrid SUV wars.
