The 2027 Kia Seltos aims to deliver ample SUV for a modest price, starting just under $25,000. Inspired by the larger Kia Telluride, the Seltos is a subcompact SUV that has been slightly enlarged, particularly its wheelbase, for the new model year. It's still smaller than segment rivals like the Toyota RAV4.

Kia offers three powertrain options. The most anticipated is the 1.6 L hybrid, expected in Q4, though details on its performance and efficiency are pending EPA certification. For now, buyers can choose a 147 hp 2.0 L four-cylinder (FWD or AWD) or a 190 hp 1.6 L turbocharged four-cylinder exclusively with AWD in the SX and X-Line trims. The turbocharged model, paired with an eight-speed automatic, offers more power for its weight.

Inside, the Seltos features a user-friendly cabin with physical controls alongside a 12.3-inch infotainment screen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It boasts generous rear legroom and class-leading cargo space. While not a luxury vehicle, the Seltos provides a comfortable and practical driving experience for its price point, with various trims offering different levels of features and driver assistance, from the base LX to the more equipped SX.
