Consumer Reports has identified the 10 least reliable cars for 2026, with GMC Acadia leading the list due to persistent transmission issues dating back to its 2008 launch. The midsize crossover continues to struggle with mechanical problems despite multiple redesigns, including the latest 2024 facelift that failed to resolve core reliability concerns.

Rivian R1T ranks among the most problematic vehicles, having endured 11 recalls in just four years of production. The electric truck's issues range from faulty seat belt systems affecting over 12,000 units to battery failures that deliver only 270-300 miles of real-world range versus the advertised 420 miles. Build quality problems like misaligned panels and HVAC malfunctions further erode consumer confidence.

Chevrolet Blazer EV faces similar challenges, with the 2024 model experiencing such severe issues that Chevrolet issued a temporary stop-sale. Over 40,000 units required recalls due to problems including failure to shift out of park and unexpected "turtle mode" activation. The Mazda CX-90 plug-in hybrid struggles with clunky gas-electric transitions and software glitches affecting nearly 100,000 units, while the Genesis GV60 EV battles charging inconsistencies and other reliability concerns typical of newer EV manufacturers.
