Braum's is constructing a 6,500-square-foot store at NW 192nd Street and Western Avenue in Oklahoma City, with permits filed for the $2.5 million project. The Oklahoma-based chain has 326 locations nationwide, with 146 stores in Oklahoma alone, representing about 45% of its total footprint.

The new location will be among the largest in the state, comparable to Braum's current record-holder at 3001 S. Sara Rd, which measures just under 6,500 square feet and includes seating for 70 guests plus an outdoor patio. Braum's has been expanding store sizes since the 2000s to accommodate larger Fresh Market grocery sections that feature wider aisles and expanded product selections.

Company spokesperson Amanda Beuchaw attributes the larger footprint to lot size constraints rather than design preference, noting that the Oklahoma City location will mirror the store model used in Yukon and Wolfforth, Texas. The company aims to open the new location before June 2026, though construction timelines remain subject to weather and material availability.
