Trump Media Pitches $100K Monthly Fee for Fast Posts

Donald Trump’s social media company, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), has proposed charging traders and investors up to $100,000 per month for expedited access to posts on his Truth Social platform. This service, dubbed "Truth API," is reportedly being discussed with prospective buyers, including proprietary trading firms and hedge funds that value split-second data for market-moving news.

Trump's Truth Social posts have historically triggered significant market fluctuations. For instance, a post suggesting it was a "great time to buy" before the administration paused tariffs preceded a 9.5 percent rally in the S&P 500. The prospect of paying for such feeds has already drawn criticism on Wall Street, as executives acknowledge the necessity of rapid information access to avoid market disadvantages.

TMTG, which is majority-owned by the Trump family, aims to provide 24/7 coverage through the API, offering a crucial millisecond advantage over standard updates. This speed is particularly valuable for high-frequency trading firms and systematic quant hedge funds, though not all financial institutions will require such a service.
