Airbus's profits surged in the second quarter, with adjusted earnings before interest and tax rising 54 per cent to €2.4bn, surpassing analyst expectations. This significant increase was driven by a sharp rise in jet deliveries, which climbed 39 per cent to 237 aircraft compared to the previous year, indicating a recovery from earlier supply chain issues.

Revenues for the quarter grew 28 per cent to €20.5bn as deliveries accelerated. The company's defence products also contributed to this strong performance. Chief executive Guillaume Faury highlighted the group's focus on "steady execution" and meeting growing demand for both civil and military solutions.

The results represent a notable turnaround from a weak first quarter, where Airbus faced challenges with engine delays for its A320 family and production defects. The company reiterated its full-year target of delivering approximately 870 commercial aircraft, reinforcing its positive outlook.
