Airbus Shares Rise on 2029 Profitability Goal

Airbus shares have risen about 5% year‑to‑date, despite ongoing supply‑chain hurdles that dampen investor confidence. The lift came after the European aircraft maker announced a mid‑term profitability goal that signals confidence in sustained demand for both commercial and military aircraft.

The company now expects adjusted EBITA to reach 12‑13 billion euros by 2029, up from 7.13 billion euros in 2025. Commercial aircraft are projected to contribute roughly 10 billion euros, while the defense and space segment is forecast to add about 1.3 billion euros and helicopters around 1.2 billion euros.

Analysts at Jefferies and Citi note the targets appear conservative, citing potential upside from growing wide‑body orders and increased German defense spending that could further lift the defense and space business.

While supply‑chain challenges remain, the market is taking the company’s long‑term outlook as a positive sign, driving the share price higher as investors bet on continued growth in the aviation sector.
