Oil prices climbed in Asian early trade amid growing concerns over supply disruptions.

Iran fired two ballistic missiles toward the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, provoking air defenses in the U.A.E. The missiles targeted maritime traffic but fell into the sea. An Iranian attack also struck the engine room of a bulk carrier east of Oman.

Batteries of attacks raise the prospect of ongoing disruptions, ANZ Research analysts note in a new report. Front‑month WTI crude futures are up 0.5% at $85.34 per barrel.

The rise reflects heightened geopolitical risk and the potential for a tighter supply curve ináltive the market as traders weigh the impact of continued Middle East volatility.
