Brookfield Asset Management and Next Era Energy are partnering to construct a $100 billion artificial intelligence data center campus on the Energy Department’s Paducah site in western Kentucky. This privately-funded project aims to repurpose the land, formerly a uranium-enrichment plant, into a hub for innovation and energy generation.

The ambitious development is slated for completion in 2032. Upon full construction, the campus is expected to support up to 1.8 gigawatts of utility capacity and over 1.2 gigawatts of compute capacity. The companies project this will be supported by up to 4.6 gigawatts of dedicated generation resources, funded and built exclusively for the project.

The partnership involves a consortium of energy, infrastructure, and utility companies, including Brookfield, Next Era Energy, Big Rivers Electric Power, Jackson Purchase Energy Cooperative, and the local Paducah Power System.
