Patrick Clancy, former husband of Lindsay Clancy, spoke publicly for the first time since her mistrial in a "60 Minutes" interview with Ross Douthat. He described dreaming "all the time" about their three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — who were strangled to death in January 2023 in Duxbury, Mass. Mr. Clancy, 38, recalled holding Callan as he died and telling him, "I'm so sorry." He said Lindsay Clancy later described the killings as feeling "like a dream."

After the tragedy, Mr. Clancy moved to New York City and lit a candle at St. Patrick's Cathedral on what would have been Callan's first birthday. The mistrial was declared Sept. 4 after one juror held out for conviction; eleven found Ms. Clancy not criminally responsible due to mental illness. Mr. Clancy said she had struggled with "deep, deep depression, intrusive thoughts."

Mr. Clancy condemned online conspiracy theories and a "relentless and destructive" defamation campaign accusing him of the killings, saying it harmed his children's legacy and distracted from perinatal mental health. He appeared with his new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, an infertility specialist, and said they are starting a new family.
