An Israeli air strike killed seven people in southern Lebanon, according to Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. The attack targeted a house on the outskirts of Ansar in the Nabatieh district at 04:30, where displaced families were living. Victims included three children and two women, and the IDF said it struck "Hezbollah terror infrastructure" in response to an earlier action against its soldiers.

Late that night, Israeli strikes intensified across southern Lebanon. Saturday morning another strike hit the town of Deir al Zahrani, killing two and injuring nine. Smoke filled the streets and sirens wailed as locals watched. Nawaf Salam condemned the attacks, stating civilians were not military infrastructure and urging Israel to halt the escalation.

The IDF cited an incident at Ali al-Taher Ridge, a strategic high ground overlooking much of southeastern Lebanon. Strikes also occurred near Bint Jbeil, with heavy machine‑gun fire reportedly directed at houses. Lebanon has been drawn into this conflict since March 2, when Hezbollah fired rockets after Israel killed Iran’s leader; Israeli forces now occupy roughly 5% of Lebanese territory.

The June ceasefire framework calls for Hezbollah to disarm, Israeli withdrawal, and deployment of the Lebanese army across the area. President Joseph Aoun condemned the strikes as violations of the framework, while Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem criticized Lebanese authorities.
