Israeli forces launched heavy strikes on Beirut and southern Lebanon overnight, killing at least seven people and injuring 21 more in the Ramlet al Baida neighborhood. The attacks sent explosions and smoke pillars across the capital, spreading chaos through densely populated areas. Lebanon's health ministry reported the casualties as Israeli military operations continued.

The Dahiya district, a Hezbollah stronghold, faced concentrated bombardment alongside other residential areas. Israel's military claimed to have struck over two dozen sites, targeting what it calls Hezbollah infrastructure. The strikes have displaced an estimated 800,000 people according to Lebanese officials, with attacks extending beyond traditional conflict zones to include hotels housing displaced families.

This latest escalation follows Hezbollah's rocket attacks on Israel in retaliation for U.S.-Israeli actions against Iran. Israel has killed more than 600 people in Lebanon during this campaign, according to Lebanese authorities. The conflict has expanded to include strikes on apartment buildings in central Beirut and hotels near the capital, marking a significant broadening of the military operation beyond previous targeting patterns.
