Sectra reported a 35% surge in third-quarter order bookings and a 53% jump in cloud revenue, driving its shares up 13% on Friday. Contracted orders rose to 1.31 billion Swedish crowns from 967.6 million a year earlier, fueled by new deployments in North America and the UK. Cloud recurring revenue climbed 53.3% to 249.5 million crowns. For the nine-month period, net sales increased 7.9% to 2.51 billion crowns, with recurring revenue accounting for 70.5% of total sales, up from 64.2% previously.

Chief Executive Torbjorn Kronander attributed the growth to satisfied customers staying and expanding their use of Sectra's solutions. However, the company's largest-ever contract, a 3.1 billion crown deal with Canadian healthcare provider MSSS Quebec, saw only its first two sites go live during the quarter. The Secure Communications division, selling encryption to government clients, saw nine-month operating profit fall 24.8% excluding a prior-year settlement, with effects persisting through the year-end.

Sectra does not hedge its foreign currency exposure, with over 70% of sales in euros, pounds, and dollars. The USD weakened approximately 16.7% against the crown in the quarter. After the period, Sectra agreed to buy Lithuanian AI diagnostics firm Oxipit UAB, holding the first CE Class IIb certification for autonomous AI in chest X-ray analysis.
