The UK government has increased the projected lifetime cost of the NHS England data platform built by Palantir to £1.1bn and revised down forecast benefits to £808mn. The National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority published the figures, noting that 'increased delivery at scale' drove up costs while refinements to estimates and improved data lowered benefits. The revisions mean the project is no longer directly comparable to previous years.

NHS England absorbed the increased costs within its budget envelope. The programme retains a green delivery rating, signalling successful progress. Two parliamentary committees have called for the 2027 break clause in Palantir's contract.

Layla Moran, chair of the health select committee, called the figures 'only reinforcement' to cut ties with Palantir. The Health Foundation think-tank found 'no noticeable improvement' in hospital performance using the patient discharge tool.
