The Minimal Company has unveiled the Minimal Phone 2, a compact smartphone featuring a physical QWERTY keyboard designed to reduce screen time. Priced from $599 with a $100 pre-order discount, the device ships in December 2026. The phone measures 122.6 mm tall and 9.48 mm thin with an aluminum unibody frame and sculpted 2.5D glass.

The backlit keyboard uses polycarbonate and silicone keys built for two-thumb typing, offering touch-sensitive navigation including swipe gestures and cursor control. Five laser-etched keyboard layouts are available at launch. The Minimal OS prioritizes essential information with a Hub that consolidates emails, texts, calls, and calendar events in one swipe-accessible view.

Running full Android with no restrictions, the phone includes modern connectivity (5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS), a 50 MP rear camera, 20 MP front camera, 3.5 mm headphone jack, fingerprint security, dual speakers, programmable switch, and LED notification indicator. The company emphasizes "everything you need, nothing you don't" with a focus on intentional use over endless scrolling.
